House rules

Gremlin is watching! 😉

We’re excited to share our home with you. You are most welcome to use common areas of the bathroom, toilet, kitchen, living room and dining room.

To ensure a pleasant and comfortable experience for everyone and to promote responsible use of resources within our home, we kindly ask all guests to follow these house rules:

General:

  • Check-in/out: Arrival is between 4.00pm and 7.00pm and departure by 10.00am. Please let us know your estimated arrival and departure time in advance. If you need to check-in earlier or check-out later, please contact us and we will try to accommodate you, if possible. (Note, this may incure a surcharge.)
  • Number of guests: Only the agreed-upon number of booked guests are allowed on the property.
  • Quiet hours: Please respect quiet hours from 10 pm to 6:30 am, during which we ask you avoid showering too.
  • Parking and transportation: We have a driveway where you can park your car, on a first booked, first served basis. (The charge on weekdays in £5 per day). Please park in the driveway diagonally in front of the house and leave the side of the driveway free to allow access to the back for a car. Please do not block our neighbours’ driveways. You are strongly advised not park in any restricted areas.
Do lock your car and do not leave any valuables inside. We are not responsible for any damage or theft to your car or belongings.
  • If you need public transportation, there is a bus stop nearby within a short walking distance. (Do ask, if you need help.) We can also provide you with information on local taxi services.
  • Smoking vaping and drugs: Smoking, vaping and drugs are strictly prohibited in our home and on our property. If you smoke, please do so outside and away from the house or garden. Dispose of your cigarette butts properly and do not litter. If we find any evidence of smoking or drug use in our house or property, we will charge you an additional cleaning fee of £150 (and may report you to the appropriate authority or organization).
  • Children: Unfortunately, our home is no longer suitable for children between the ages of 6 months old to 8 years old. It used to be, but we have moved on and cannot child-proof it again to ensure the safety of such young guests.
All children and youth booked are to be supervised at all times by the guardian on the booking.
  • Pets and animals: We do allow pets (dogs and cats only) in our home (max of 2 with any booking) and we, ourselves, have a cat, Gremlin, and a dog, Alice.
However, please let us know in advance and provide us with the necessary documentation- details of the breed, temperament, proof of up-to-date vaccinations and flea/tick treatment.
Please keep your animal under your control and clean up after them immediately. Note, that pets are not allowed on the beds or in the bathrooms.
  • Parties & events: This is a residential space, and only those booked and named on the booking are permitted to enter: No guests of guests! Strictly no parties or events!
  • Safety and security: We want you to be safe and feel safe and secure in our home. For that reason, we kindly ask you to:
    • Lock the doors at all times and lock windows when you leave the house or go to bed.
    • Do not share the keys with anyone.
    • Do not open the door to any strangers.
    • Report any suspicious or dangerous activity to us and/or to the police.
    • Do not use candles, matches, lighters, or any other flammable items in the house.
    • Do not tamper with the house’s smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, or any other safety equipment.
    • Security cameras: We have several security cameras operating on our property- at the entrances, in the garden and in some communal areas.
  • Lost keys: A replacement fee of £50 per key will be charged for lost keys.

Respectful living:

  • Please treat our home with care and respect: Leave things as you found them and report any accidental damage immediately- including any stains, leaks, blockages- and pay for the repair or replacement.

  • We are a shoe-free home and respectfully ask guests to leave shoes by the front door. We have a range of guest slippers and slipper socks that you are welcome to borrow for the duration of their stay.
  • Dishes should be washed promptly after use, dried and put away.  At times, you may also place them in the dishwasher if there is space.
  • Please leave the bathroom clean and tidy after yourself: remove any hairs, dry the floor and clean the toilet after yourself (with provided toilet brush for the bowl, spray and toilet paper for the seat).
  • Please put sanitary towels and tampons into little bags provided (under the sink or just outside the bathroom) and into the bin.
Do not flush tampons, wetwipes, sanitary towels as they will cause a blockage in our system! (Even if they say they are flushable!)
  • Furniture and decorations: Rearranging furniture or decorations is not allowed.

Waste and Recycling:

We actively recycle. Please use designated bins for rubbish. Our bin collection day is Tuesday.
